After serving at Madison Barracks (Sackets Harbor), NY (January 1941) he was transferred to Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. He served in England before the massive 1944 D-Day landing in France. Returned home to Syracuse, NY November 1945. He married Ethel Florence Secor of Henderson, NY on December 1, 1945.
