He enlisted in the United States Army on February 12, 1943, at Camp Dodge Herrold, Iowa. At the time of his enlistment, Weipert was classified as a private and a selectee, meaning he was chosen for military service rather than being drafted. Kenneth married Helen B Bowers (1914–1972) on June 15, 1946 in Russell, Alabama, USA. The couple resided in Lansing, Iowa, USA. He retired with 27 years of service from Tom's Foods as a truck driver.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Gerard Schreck officiating. Mr. Weipert was born on July 11, 1920 in Lansing, IA, son of the late Theodore and Florence Strube Weipert. He retired with 27 years of service from Tom's Foods as a truck driver. He was Catholic by faith. He is survived by his wife Julia White Weipert of Columbus; several step children and grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
