  • Introduction

Kenneth Overstreet was born on September 18, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His father, Kenneth Howard Overstreet (1925-1981), was just 23 at the time, and his mother, Zelma Susan Mills (1928-2000), was 19 and thrilled to have a baby boy. Kenneth was their oldest child and he had younger siblings including Roger Dale Overstreet (1950-1992), Ina Sue Overstreet (1953-1953), Larry S Overstreet (1956-2003), Gary Wayne Overstreet (1958-1999), Ronald James Overstreet (1960-1978), John Alan Overstreet (1968-2016), and Steven Overstreet. In 1967, at the age of 19, Kenneth married Vickie Lynn Larkins (1951-2001). They had six children together over the next several years, including Linda Sue Overstreet (1969-2004), Tina, Kenny, Bridgett, Brandy, and Kelly. Kenneth worked hard in the construction industry to provide for his growing family. The couple was married for about 10 years and later divorced on September 12, 1978 due to Vickie claiming "Gross Neglect of Duty". Sadly, Kenneth's life was cut short when he passed away on January 6, 1986, at the age of just 37. He was laid to rest in his hometown, surrounded by those who loved him.
