Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Kimberly

shooting star: I called my aunt "Sissy" instead of aunt Kim. I remember how she always smelled like cats and perfume. Sometimes she would come over without telling us. You would just hear the doorbell ring and next thing you know here she comes into our living room with cookies, little presents or whatever it was that time. When she picked my little brother and I up she would take us to a toy store and buy us anything we asked for. "Throw it in the cart" w a s used frequently on these trips. She knew her land like the back of her hand. Sometimes she would find whole fossils and bring them back in her house. Sissy would put out food at dusk and at night the animals would come and eat it. The skunks name was Rose or Rosey, I do not really remember. She died when I was in third grade. I remember she had a knights armor put together and it was sitting at the top of the stairs, watching us as we played below. Sissy had a huge gumball machine in the basement and she would always let us stick as many as we could possibly fit in our mouths. And when I got a lip bumper and could not chew the gum, she took me back into her pantry where she had all this candy. Uncle Stevey and her built their house themselves. Her closest was huge, I remember that, in fact I used to think her house was a castle and she was a princess. She was a brilliant psychologist. She gave advice on many occasions to me and really made me feel special, she made everybody feel special. She had a lot o f great stories in her life but I think my favorite is when she was helping this little boy who was traumatized. He had been in a fire and saw fire whenever he closed his eyes. Sissy tried talking to him at first, but he did not want t o talk. She asked if he would like to draw instead. He shook his head yes and sissy brought in a chalkboard. After some sessions the little boy was healed. But he said I'm going to draw on last picture for you. Sissy said ok. The little boy drew a house on fire and he said that's me. Then he drew a waterfall putting out the fire. He said that's you, you are my waterfalls. My aunt Sissy was a shooting star. With her short time on earth she shone brightly and beautifully, captivating and giving hope to everyone that layed eyes on her. But j just as quickly as she appeared she was gone.
