Knut Sandbeck, 87, of Naples, passed away on December 13, 2003. He was born in Huso, Norway, and emigrated to the United States with his parents in 1919. He started his career with the Bell System in 1933 as a mail boy. He rose to become Vice President/Comptroller of Pacific Northwest Bell and retired in 1979. He served in the Second World War in the Eighth Armored Division in the European theater. He retired to Florida in the early 1990s. He is survived by his wife, Gerd, of 55 years and two children, Elizabeth Sandbeck of Alexandria, Virginia and Kenneth Sandbeck of Lenexa, Kansas and two grandchildren, Hanna and Erik Sandbeck.
