    The following obituary appeared in The Kansas City Star on July 25, 2002, Thursday: KYLE DUANE SEELY Kyle Duane Seely, 37, Louisburg, KS, passed awa Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, at The First Christian Church, Louisburg, KS. Burial in Louisburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 -8 p.m., Thursday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, Kyle request contributions of the Kyle Seely Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o First National Bank, Louisburg, KS or to Shriner's Hospital of St. Louis MO. The Seely Family would like to thank George Shaw Construction Company and Dusty Rhodes Homes for their unlimited support and compassion throughout Kyle's battle with cancer.

In 1965, in the year that Kyle D Seely was born, from August 11 to 16, riots broke out in Watts, a Black section of Los Angeles. An allegedly drunk African-American driver was stopped by LA police and, after a fight, police brutality was alleged - and the riots began. 34 people died in the rioting and over $40 million in property damage occurred. The National Guard was called in to help the LA police quell rioting.
