    Larry Grant Patnude, 63, a resident of Montesano, left this earth Feb. 25, 2015 after a long illness. Larry died at home with his longtime life partner, Kelly M. DuBois, at his side. Larry was born Feb. 12, 1952, to Grant “Buddy” Patnude and Dorothy (Waddle-Patnude) McLeod in Olympia. Larry spent most of his childhood in Hoquiam. He played Little League when he was young and continued to love sports his entire life. He loved digging razor clams and picking little wild blackberries for pie or cobbler. Larry was a great carpenter, loved to grow a vegetable garden, and always made sure to grow a few flowers on the perimeter like his grandmother taught him. Larry was liked by everyone and was always ready and willing to help anyone, anytime. He was the guy who really would give you the shirt off his back. He loved animals, especially dogs. He was in the Hoquiam High School class of 1970. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Grant L. “Buddy” Patnude; his sister Pamela Patnude; paternal grandparents, George Patnude and Katherine “Kitty” Inmon Patnude and maternal grandparents, Walter Waddle and Lois Schwenck Waddle; and nephews, David Grant Watson and Matthew Thomas McLeod. Survivors include his life partner Kelly M. DuBois of Montesano; mother Dorothy McLeod, sister Roxanne “Roxie” Patnude-McLeod and brother Mark (Laura) McLeod, all of Lacey; five daughters, Harmony (Adam) Turney of Iowa, Gabrielle Wolcott of Aberdeen, Yvonne Patnude of Guam, and Glory Dove (Javier) Rangel of Texas and Bethany Patnude, Montesano; three aunts, Patricia Keifert of Poulsbo, Linda Patnude Gotovac of Tenino and Sue (Tom Hyde) Patnude of Matlock; 12 grandchildren, Alex, Miles, Taylan, Makenna, Izzabel, Raquel, Gypsy, Jupiter, Chloe, Evan, Cameron and Jase. Larry leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom loved him dearly. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., at Capital Christian Center, 4431 Martin Way E, Olympia, WA. Read more:
