Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Lempi

Lempi went by Alice. She went by gramma to me. She was the best gramma any kid could ask for. I spent many weekends with her and my grampa Viole Alfarone at their cabin on Camano Island! I spent every holiday at her house on Beacon Hill. Every family member got a BIG KISS on the face when you walked in her door! We all walked around with lipstick on our faces! She was so wonderful and loving and loved her family more than anything else in the world! She was tall and beautiful. She had cookies and milk every night after everyone was in bed. She was a classy lady and I'm a better person for having her love as a gramma. I really got lucky! She had such good taste in home decor. When she was a kid in North Dakota she was starving so her giant family moved to Washington where she met my grampa, Viole Alfarone. Her family name is Nurmi. She knew how to hunt mushrooms and collect mussels. She was a great cook. She was Finnish. She gave me stability. I miss her very much. She made being a child a wondrous adventure! Those days were precious. She was a great wife and a great mother to her two sons. She taught me to cutesy and serve tea to her friends. I was happy to do it. Gramma didn't drive. She told me that if I wore lipstick and learned to type that my future would be just fine! She worked at 3M company and worked at a candy factory before that. Grammas cookie jar was always full!
