Leon Charles Stauffer was born on December 2, 1957 in Willow Grove, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania United States to Rosina (Stepaunchi) Stauffer and Leon Paul Stauffer Jr., and had siblings Konrad Joseph Stauffer, Matthew Paul Stauffer, Peter Joseph Stauffer, John Robert Stauffer, James Mark Stauffer, and Gloria Joanne Kopchak. He married Jonell Marie Stauffer on March 15, 1980 in Willow Grove, Montgomery County, PA, and they were married until Leon's death on February 25, 2022 in Quarryville, Lancaster County. He had children Joshua Leon Stauffer, Angela Nicole Stauffer, and Bryan James Stauffer. Leon Stauffer was buried on March 12, 2022 in Quarryville.

    Leon C. Stauffer,64,of Quarryville is now running in glory and face to face with his Savior,Jesus Christ. Born in Willow Grove,he was the son of the late Leon P. Jr.,and Rosina (Stepancich) Stauffer. He was the loving husband of Jonell (Aument) Stauffer for 42 years. Leon was a graduate of Covenant College and Westminster Theological Seminary. He taught 5th grade at the Oxford Area School District for 27 years and had been teaching part time at Bethany Christian School in Oxford for the past two years. Leon was an active member of Faith Church in Quarryville. He was an enthusiastic Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Leon was passionate about connecting with and encouraging others. He enjoyed reading,especially C. S. Lewis books. Leon would often say that he liked his kids,but he loved his grandkids. In addition to his loving wife,Leon is survived by his children,Joshua (Donna) Stauffer of Strasburg; Angela Stauffer of San Diego,CA; and Bryan (Corrie) Stauffer of Quarryville. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Lucan,Thatcher,Kezik and Shiloh;siblings Matthew (Susan),Pete (Shirl),John (Eva),James,Gloria (Lori) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother,Konrad. "But only for them it was the beginning of the real story. All their in life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story,which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever,in which every chapter is better than one before." C.S. Lewis. A Memorial Service will take place at Faith Church,611 Robert Fulton Hwy.,Quarryville,PA on Saturday,March 12,2022 beginning at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30-11:00 A.M. Interment will be private. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contribution may be made to Serve Now,1817 Austin Bluffs Parkway,#110 Colorado Springs,CO 80918 or Compassion International,Colorado Springs,Colorado 80997.

In 1965, at the age of merely 8 years old, Leon was alive when from August 11 to 16, riots broke out in Watts, a Black section of Los Angeles. An allegedly drunk African-American driver was stopped by LA police and, after a fight, police brutality was alleged - and the riots began. 34 people died in the rioting and over $40 million in property damage occurred. The National Guard was called in to help the LA police quell rioting.
