LEON RONALD SAUERS, SR. Hillcrest Memorial Center Leon Ronald Sauers, Sr, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed from this life to the next at his home surrounded by loved ones on January 18, 2017. He was born to parents, Leon Ray and Elsie Ruth Sauers on May 10, 1943, in Crellin, Maryland. Lee enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961 which he made his career until he retired in 1981. He met the love of his life, Mary Lou Hernandez, in April of 1973 and they were married July 21, 1973. They both shared the same goal of family first. Upon his retirement, Lee and Mary moved their family to the Tri-Cities where he worked for Allied Technology until he retired once again. Lee resided in the Tri-Cities for 35 years until his passing. Lee was a loving, patient, generous and loyal man who loved to laugh and make you smile, but cherished his family above all. He loved spending time with family, taking Mary dancing, singing and playing guitar with his children and grandchildren, whether it was at the VFW which he was a life member of or at home. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Sauers, two sons, Lee Jr and Robert Lee Sauers; a daughter, Sandra Lee Schoell, daughter- in-law, Lucy Ann Sauers; four grandchildren, Katlynn Marie Sauers, Sebastian Thomas Sauers, Robert Lee Nilsen and Brayden Aaron Lee Schoell; one step-grandchild, Raina Hendrickson; one great-grandchild, Harper Lee-Ann Lancheros; one brother, Rodger Dean Sauers; three nephews, Randy Shields, Kevin and Gary Sauers. Lee is preceded in death by his father and mother, his beautiful daughter, Debbie Lee Sauers; brother and sisters, Elsie, Jean, Curt and Patty. Dad, you were a class act! We are thankful for all the love that you showed us and all that you taught us. We will continue to learn from you daily. You will be missed but never forgotten. Your legacy and love will live on through each of us. Until we meet again Dad, we love you! The Sauers' family would like to especially thank Chaplaincy and Hospice care for their palliative treatment and loving care to ensure that Lee could be home and as comfortable as possible when he passed. Following Lee's request, there will be no services held.
