He had eight siblings, four brothers and four sisters, including Kenneth, Phyllis, Florence, Orville, and Jess. Leon Salathe married Mildred (Millie) Johnson on December 7, 1963, in Ft Pierre, South Dakota. They had two children, Tammy and Tracy.
