    I can remember going to the flea market on Sundays with my father. We spent hours walking up and down the aisles. I can remember his scent. Last year, I walked outside and I felt his presence move thru me. One time, we were at the flea market and he loved to negotiate. He negotiated a pack of underwear that was already cheap. It was like 5 pair for 5 dollars or something. Anyway, he negotiated the pack of underwear down to 3 bucks. We got home and he was excited about to show off the underwear to my Mother, he pulled them out and we all started bursting in laughter..not one pair had any elastic in them!! He was a rock to our family.

In 1934, in the year that Leonard R Camiso Jr was born, on November 11th 1933, an extremely strong dust storm hit South Dakota, stripping topsoil. Other strong dust storms had occurred during 1933. Severe droughts continued to hit the Great Plains and the dust storms devastated agricultural production as well as people's' lives for several years. The Roosevelt administration and scientists eventually determined that farming practices had caused the conditions that led to the dust storms and the changes they implemented in farming stopped the Dust Bowl.

The Allies didn't want this to happen again and the Marshall Plan was devised to make sure that those conditions didn't arise again.
