    Leonard Samuel Zinberg (1911-1968) dead in N Y from heart stroke, was a Jewish writer, married to Esther, an Afro-American woman. They have adopted a girl, Clara. Both were members of the CPUSA in Harlem and Len was become a very well known mystery writer under the alias of Ed Lacy (and Steve April). He wrote 4 books under the Len Zinberg name, 22 under Ed Lacy one, one under Steve April one and a last one under Russell Turner one. He has created Toussaint Moore, the first credible black private eye in Room To Swing which won the Edgar Allan Poe Award (MWA)..
