LeRoy Kenneth Wendorf was born on June 26, 1937 to parents Edward August Wendorf and Verona Veronica Kell Wendorf. He grew up in a large family with siblings including Marion Nora Wendorf Behnke (1918-1995), Rosella Ilene Wendorf Tabaka (1920-2020), Evelyn Emma Wendorf Jensema (1922-2019), Verona Irene Wendorf Kluever (1923-2009), Marjorie Ann Wendorf Houg (1925-2022), Elmer Edward Wendorf (1927-1994), and Alvin Clement Wendorf (1931-1965). He grew up in Berlin, Marathon, Wisconsin and later resided in Wausau, Marathon, Wisconsin. He married Esther Ann Duginski (1940–2023) on September 1, 1960 in Merrill, Wisconsin. Together the couple had two daughters Debbie and Sue, and a son Michael Wendorf. LeRoy was a certified professional manager from The Institute of Certified Professional Managers and worked for "Greenheck" as a supervisor for the Greenheck Fan Corp in Schofield. He served as a national director for The National Management Association that was based in Dayton, Ohio and represented Wisconsin within the national organization, which had 72,000 chapters. In 1989, he was honored as Supervisor of the Year by the Wisconsin Valley Supervisors' Chapter, a group of 125 members representing 36 area firms. On June 17, 2009, LeRoy Wendorf passed away in Wausau, Wisconsin, United States.

She passed away on January 28, 1975 in Wausau.

According to an article in the Wausau Daily Herald on Apr 18, 1984, Leroy was charged with having sexual contact with a minor and was placed on probation for 3 years.
