He had siblings Eunice Ursula Giles, William Henry Clarence Giles, Avice Verena Giles, Eric Ernest Giles, Dorothy Romas Giles, and Reginald Cedric Giles. He married Sarah May Britter in 1911, and had children James Henry Alfred Giles and Leslie Clarence Giles. Leslie Giles died at age 70 years old on September 13, 1964 in Mortlake, Moyne Shire County.
