Leslie William Hellyar of Port Fairy Australia was born in 1890 in Port Fairy, Moyne Shire County, VIC to Richard Hellyer and Margaret Maloney Hellyer. He had siblings Sarah Ann (Hellyer) Brown, Edwin Hellyer, Thomas Hellyer, Joseph Hellyer, George Henry Hellyer, and Herbert John Hellyer. He married Elsie May Crane Hayler in 1911, and had children Gwendoline May Hayler, Leslie William Hellyer, George Hellyer, Harold Edward Hellyer, and Thomas Leonard Hellyer. Leslie Hellyar died at age 59 years old in 1949 in Melbourne.
