He married Betty Jane Hayse (1912-1999) on November 18, 1930 and had multiple children together including Clifford Henderson (1931-1986), Jesse Randall (1934-1934), Rowena Faye (1935-1988), Ervena Marie (1937-1996), and John Everett Probus (born 1939). Leslie Henderson Probus passed away on June 13 (or 17) 1989 in Rosine, Ohio Co, Kentucky.

In 1902, in the year that Less H Probus was born, the first Rose Bowl game was played in Pasadena, California. Called the "Tournament East–West football game" at the time, the Michigan Wolverines (East) played the Stanford Indians (West) - the Wolverines won 49 - 0. (The Stanford captain requested an end to the game with 8 minutes remaining.) The Tournament of Roses Parade began in 1890 and the football game began as a way to boost tourism in the area.
