Lester Jon Blasiman was born on April 7, 1917 in North Benton, Ohio to parents Alfred Christ Blasiman (1892-1975) and Clara E Warren (1892-1950). He had siblings Charles Alfred Blasiman (1915-), Grace Blasiman (1920-1981), Russell Blasiman (1922-1996), Earl William Blasiman (1924-2002), Glenn Samuel Blasiman (1928-2003), and two more sisters. He lived in Smith, Mahoning, Ohio, USA and worked as a mechanic. Lester registered for the WWII draft on October 16, 1940, he was 23 years old and living in Beloit, Mahoning, Ohio. His employer at the time was John Williams and Son. Lester enlisted on October 20, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio and joined the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA. He held the rank of Private, Selectees (enlisted men) and served until he was discharged on November 7, 1945.
