Lestock Robert Peacock of Box Hill Australia was born in 1859 in Richmond to Robert Peacock and Mary Ann (Mcintyre) Peacock. He had siblings Sarah Ann Peacock, Caroline Jane Peacock, Joshua Peacock, Fanny Mary Eliza Peacock, and Rich Peacock. He married Catherine Mcarthur Peacock in 1891, and had children Olive Peacock, Carol Jane Peacock, and Ina Campbell Peacock. Lestock Peacock died at age 45 years old on September 21, 1905 in Box Hill.

In 1859, in the year that Lestock Robert Peacock was born, on October 16th, abolitionist John Brown led a raid on Harpers Ferry Armory in Harper's Ferry, Virginia, in an attempt to start a slave rebellion. He wanted to "liberate" the guns in the armory and arm slaves. Brown was captured and hanged on December 2nd.
