    Letitia C. Arterburn was born on May 26, 1917 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY (Kentucky) United States to Paul R. and Hester C. (McCormack) Arterburn. She was the only child, and grew up with two servants in their home in Louisville. She married Harvey Clifton Elkin on June 18, 1938 in her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. McCormack's home in Waddy, Kentucky. Thier alter was made of lilies, ferns, and candles. The couple lived in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. She later moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida from Louisville in 1959 and worked as a data processing computer programmer. Letitia married Jack R. Stowe and had children together including Sallie Huston Marti, Sandra Moore Cazel and stepsons, Robert and Ronald. She went on to have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
