Linda Ellen Riddle 1956 - 2009 PITTSFIELD Linda Ellen Riddle, 53, of Springside Avenue, died Wednesday at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield after a five-year battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 31, 1956, the daughter of Elizabeth J. Dearstyne Gaherty and the late Stanley E. Gaherty, she attended Lenox schools and was a 1974 graduate of Lenox Memorial High School. Mrs. Riddle was employed for many years as a housekeeper at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. She was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and also enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and was a volunteer with the Special Olympics for several years. Mrs. Riddle and her husband, Todd M. Riddle, were married in Pittsfield on Aug. 31, 1980. Besides her husband of Pittsfield and her mother of Lenox, she leaves two sons, John E. and Justin M. Riddle, both of Pittsfield; three brothers, Daniel M. Gaherty and his wife, Tammy, of Lanesborough, Robert T. Gaherty of Lenox, and James E. Gaherty and his wife, Jessica, of Lee; one sister, Bonnie M. Henry of Lenox, and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Cemetery in Lenox by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor. Calling hours at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's memory may be made to the Relay for Life in care of the funeral home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240. - See more at:
