Lively Hall 1897 - 1964

Lively Hall was born on March 24, 1897 to Lillie Gertrude (Mince) Hall and Cherry H. Hall, and had siblings Sidney Wesley Hall, Jenny Ada (Hall) Wesley, Infant (Hall), James William Hall, Romey Hall, and Lonie Hall. He married Laura Mae (King) Hall on April 28, 1918, and they were married until Lively's death on September 23, 1964. Lively Hall had children Mamie Lucille (Hall) Midkiff, Romie Hall, William Dudley Hall, Marie Hall, Fred Franklin Hall, Elmo Leonard Hall, Lonie Hall, Cherry Hall, and Lula Ann Hall.

In 1897, in the year that Lively Hall was born, on September 21st, editor and publisher Francis P. Church responded to a letter to the editor from Virginia O'Hanlon, 8 years old. Virginia's father had told her that "If you see it in The Sun, it's so." So she wrote to the Sun, asking if there was a Santa Claus. Church responded with the now famous editorial "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus".

In 1939, Lively was 42 years old when on the 1st of September, Nazi Germany invaded Poland. On September 17th, the Soviet Union invaded Poland as well. Poland expected help from France and the United Kingdom, since they had a pact with both. But no help came. By October 6th, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany held full control of the previously Polish lands. Eventually, the invasion of Poland lead to World War II.
