    Lloyd, age 50, told the 1940 Federal census that he had completed the 5th grade.

    His funeral was held at the United Baptist Church.
  • Professional Career

    During World War I, he was employed at the Kittery Navy Yard and he later worked in Boston, where he was involved with the construction of North Station. When Lloyd was 50 years old, he told the 1940 Federal census that he was working as a "yard man". Before retiring in 1953, Lloyd worked at the Great Northern Paper Company for 43 years.

    Lloyd Jerome Hendsbee was born on April 15th 1889 to Cornelius K Hendsbee (1867 - 1892) and Annie Victoria Munroe, born 1869, and he had one older sister, Lillian Hendsbee, born 1887. Lloyd J Hendsbee married Phoebe "Jane" Knowlan (1889 - 1974) on June 20th, 1906 in Queensport, Nova Scotia Canada and they had five daughters, including May, Muriel, Mildred, Margaret and Lillian; and six sons, including Laurier, Alfred, Wilfred, Harold, Donald, and Woodrow Hendsbee. Lloyd was also survived by twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
