He was enlisted in the Army during World War II on September 15, 1939 and entered into service that day. He was released from duty on July 2, 1945. He also was T/4 (Inf?) which I believe means a Technical Officer of some kind. His discharge was honorable. Most notably, he earned a Purple Heart, the American Defense Service Medal, the EAME (Europe-Africa-Middle East) Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star on it, a Good Conduct Medal, and lastly a Silver Star. He was a part of the campaign at St. Lo France in 1944. He served for 8 months and 7 days. His service serial no. was 20-455-457.
