She was born December 12, 1953 in Vernon County to Orie and Coral (Revels) Hanson. She was united in marriage to Roger Bjerkaas on April 11, 1980. Her mother and a stepdaughter, Kerry Bjerkaas, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Roger of De Soto; son, Martin (Holly) Hilton of Fort Knox, Kentucky; daughter, Michelle (Ted) Burchell of Cataract; daughter, Jennifer Bjerkaas of La Crosse; son, John Bjerkaas and good friend Heather Lockington of De Soto; two grandchildren, Madison Hilton and Cheyenne Burchell; two stepsons, Peter and David Bjerkaas; a step-grandchild, John Alex Hricinak; her father, Orie Hanson of Viroqua; four sisters, Margie (Floyd) Peipenhagen of Cashton, Shirley (Harold) McGill of Ferryville, Kay (Richard) Bolstad of De Soto and Carolyn Andren of South Dakota; a brother, Clayton (Kim) Hanson of La Farge; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. We love you Mom. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 18, 2003 at New Hope United Methodist Church in Red Mound. The Rev. Jan Meyer officiated with burial in the De Soto Cemetery. Friends called at the Larson Funeral Home in De Soto on Friday evening and at the church on Saturday after 10 a.m
