Lois Joan (Pearmain) Richardson was born on March 2, 1918 to Harold Frederick William Pearmain and Elsie Annie Bickers, and had a brother Bryan Leslie Pearmain. Lois was baptized in Armadale, City of Stonnington County, VIC Australia. She married Joseph Kevin Richardson on December 18, 1937, and died at age 60 years old on April 4, 1978 at Hilda St, in Balwyn. Lois Richardson was buried in April 1978 at Springvale Botanical Cemetery 600 Princes Hwy, in Springvale, City of Greater Dandenong County.

In 1937, at the age of 19 years old, Lois was alive when on May 6th, the German zeppelin the Hindenburg caught fire and blew up. The Hindenburg was a passenger ship traveling to Frankfurt Germany. It tried to dock in New Jersey, one of the stops, and something went wrong - it blew up. Thirty-six people were killed out of the 97 on board - 13 passengers, 22 crewmen, and one ground worker. The reasons for the explosion are still disputed.
