    Lora B. Hesse (1907-2005) WAVERLY - Lora B. Hesse, 98, of Waverly, formerly of Denver, died Sunday, Aug. 28, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community. She was born April 29, 1907, in New Hartford, daughter of Edwin and Lizzie Ackerson Sells. She married Art Hesse in DeWitt, and he preceded her in death in 1960. Mrs. Hesse and her husband farmed in several communities including Shell Rock, Janesville and Denver. In 1944, she began working for John Deere in janitorial services and later retired in 1967. Survived by: a son, Roger of Waverly; two daughters, Ethel Gibson of Waverly and Esther (Lavern) Schweer of Cedar Falls; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Hesse of Marshalltown; 14 grandchildren, numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Louie (Paula) Sells of Grundy Center; and a sister, Evelyn Grandon of New Hartford. Preceded in death by: three sons, Wesley, Leslie and Kenneth; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, four brothers; and three sisters. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
