Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Lorena

Best Mom: Forever wanting to be a Mom & not being able to conceive one of her own, she adopted 2 children - a girl and a boy. Me being privileged to be that baby girl that she wanted & waited for. Not only being a Mom, but a best friend. Most don't get to have that kind of relationship with their Mom until they're older, I guess the stars knew I wouldn't have much time with her so she was my best friend thought the years I had with her. I can say that she was a Mom like no other! She was a Mom to every friend I had. I don't remember much about the few days after her passing, I had to be strong at 20 since my father and brother weren't. But what I do remember were childhood friends whom I haven't seen in years coming to say their goodbyes, tell stories & such. All I could think was 'how did these people know?'. The way she touched everyone she met, especially kids, never forgot their second 'Mom' she was. But to me I got to say she officially was MY MOM, MY BEST FRIEND - I still hear her voice sometimes, making me look twice, still expect her to call, still expect her to walk in the door (tho I live somewhere else now). But, I talk to the moon every night, for that is where she is, with her Dad, my Pop pop. She listens to me, watches over me as I sleep & shines bright in my darkest hours even tho I can't see, I feel her - a Mom like no other.
