    Lorene's Mince family was in America so long that we do not know their origins for certain. There has been speculation that they were of Minsk, but it is not proven.

    Lorene graduated from DeValls Bluff High School in DeValls Bluff, Prairie, AR, and attended a business college in Little Rock before becoming a secretary. She came to Norfolk, VA and worked for an insurance company for a while. She met Yank in Norfolk, and they married there, having no children, probably due to Lorene's scoliosis. Yank had polio as a child and had a decided limp the rest of his life. After living in Broad Creek Village in Norfolk, they moved to Little Rock, AR, where they remained the rest of their lives; however, when Lorene was widowed and becoming ill with old age, her sister, Freda, brought her back to Norfolk to care for her, and she died in Norfolk. Lorene was buried at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock.
