    Lorenzo D. Sampson was a soldier in the United States Civil War. He enlisted May 10, 1861. He was wounded at the Battle of Missionary Ridge. He was admitted to the US General Hospital in Chattanooga, Tn. with a wound to the right lung on December 3, 1863 and died on December 6, 1863. (Information from Fold3)
