  • Introduction

    After surfing the web regarding murderers and the victims looking for subjects that had gone unsolved or other circumstances leaving the victim and family without closure. I came upon this child's untimely death, without a doubt this is the same young girl with the association of the time and date and the location. Lorna Lax was found hanging from a tree after brutally beaten by her attacker. I have copied and paste the description of her death as well as the confession of the suspected murder "November 14, 1959 - A 12-year-old girl named Lorna Lax vanishes in San Francisco. Her beaten, stabbed and strangled body was found in woods the next day. It was later discovered that she'd been prostituting herself to local boys. Clifford Fortner, a 15-year-old, eventually confessed to the killing and was incarcerated." But further information stated on the Murderpedia.com sit a blog written by panderingtomyself.blogspot.com ends with this comment "After the initial shock of the crime wore off, the juveniles involved disappeared into obscurity: a person by the name of Clifford Fortner still resides in Oakland, California, but the Lax family and Norman Fortner are nowhere to be found" I am curious as to why Clifford took this young girls life and if he was convicted of this crime there is no record of how much time he spent behind bars for her murder. What happened to his brother and where did the Lax Family disappear to? Here is another excerpt from the blog referring to the investigation. "In an allegedly post-coital rage, Clifford beat Miss Lax with a flashlight, then stabbed her with a steak knife (that he must have brought with him). He then tied a noose around Miss Lax neck and hung her from the fig tree under which they had had sexual intercourse. Miss Lax body was found the next day by the murderer's brother, Norman Fortner, age 13, who accepted an "invitation" from Miss Lax to "come see her fort." Further investigation and information to assure that this young man did serve time for his actions isn't listed or the disappearance of the Lax family were they ever located, was there more to the disappearance of the youths involved in this case go to Murderpedia.com look up the name Clifford Fortner and maybe there is someone who can make sure this young girl's murderer was properly sentence and served the time he should have for such a dhanias crime.

faithfully. She was murdered. May God rest her soul.
