Louie Giacobbi of Westland, Wayne County, Michigan was born on June 5, 1899. He was married to Rena Marie Del Beato, and had children Helen Bogus, William Andrew Giacobbi, Joseph Francis Giacobbi, and James Vincent Giacobbi. Louie Giacobbi died at age 85 years old in December 1984.

In 1899, in the year that Louie Giacobbi was born, the meaning of Chinese "oracle bones" was rediscovered. Farmers in China had been turning up the bones in their fields for generations but most often they were ground up and sold as medicine. The chancellor of the Imperial Academy and a friend noticed, before they ground the bones, that they had writing. The bones had been used around the second millennium BC for divination.

In 1909, he was merely 10 years old when William Howard Taft became the 27th President of the United States on March 4th. Previously Secretary of War, Judge on the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, Solicitor General of the U.S., and Governor of both the Philippines and Cuba, Taft was the only President who went on to become Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
