Louis Riffe 1904 - 1985

Louis Riffe of Windfall, Tipton County, Indiana was born on December 11, 1904 to Minnie Josephine Hoban Riffe and Charles Edwards Riffe. He had siblings Glenn T. Riffe, William "Bud" Riffe, Barbara Leone Riffe Carter, and Eva Belle Riffe Surber. Louis Riffe died at age 81 years old in December 1985.

  • Introduction

    Louis was a farmer and high school teacher in Windfall, Indiana. He lived most of his life on a farm two and a half miles outside of Windfall. He was first married to Jeanette Darrow and they had two daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Jennie Lou. After nearly 35 years of marriage, Jeanette died. Two years later, Louis married Mary Jackson Wiggins and they moved to Elwood. Mary died four years later, and Louis lived alone on his farm afterwards.
