Louis Schaeffer arived in the US in 1865 at the age of 15. he met my Gr. grandmother Christine who arrived in 1868 and they married. They had 7 living children the eldest Christina born in 1871 is my grandmother. She married August Becker in 1892. Christina had Louis, Gottfried, Bernard,Heinrich, Charles and Georgeas her brothers. August and Christina when they married lived in Brookly where the both familes resided. She and August went on to have 5 children. LouiseBecker Andels was the eldest and took over bringing up her brothers and sister after her mother died twoo weeks after giving birth. There was Henry Becker, Ernest Becker, Margaret Becker Foster and August. They moved from Brookly to what was then Harlem and then in the 1920's moved to Framingdale LI. Louise had married and they took her father and Ernest and August with them. The others had married and moved on. I have been able to keep in contact with what is now the Becker-Foster-Behrmann family thru the years but have lost all contact with the Schaeffers. I recently found some of my gr. uncl John Beckers family and a few Schaeffer cousins but would like to contact the rest of the Schaeffers to make our family history complete. if anyone can help , please contact me.
