Louis Alexander Swiniuch Sr. was born to Philip L. "Filip" Swiniuch ( 1888 - 1952) and Katherine "Katarzyna" Jordan (1892 - 1972). Both of his parents were born in Poland. He had siblings Caroline (1911 - 1923), Eugenia (1924 - 1924), Leonard A. (1925 - 1943), and Philip Faustyn "Babe" Swiniuch Jr. (1934 - 2016). Louis Swiniuch married Clara T. Szczechowicz (1918 - 1991) on October 18, 1936, in Salem, Massachusetts, and they had four children, two sons and two daughters, Louis A., Carol A., Judith M. and Richard E. Swiniuch Sr. (1940 -2012).
