She wrote in her 1922 diary, rain rain rain rain surly if it rains one more day my soul will mildew
She was a old maid school teacher who lived in a house next door to her parents house on Layfette St Winnfield La. I cleaned house for the family that owned her late parents home. With her permission each week I would take home a bag of letters that were stored in the attic. In the letters I found out she was going to marry but her Love was killed in the World war 1 . She had to ride the train to where she taught and she Loved to entertain her friends. She went to dances, played the piano and should have been a published writer. Her two friends that she talked about the most were Ruth and Pan. that was forty years ago, both houses are gone. I wish I had made copies or knew who have them now.
