    Lucas Daniel LaBuy's father was Scott LaBuy and his mother was Lisa LaBuy. He had sister Sydney LaBuy. His paternal grandparents were Ken and Mary LaBuy of Arkansas and his maternal grandmother was Bette Camp of Arizona. He had several aunts, uncles, and cousins. When he passed, Lucas was 13 and an eighth grade student at Cherokee Middle School. He was a member of both the track and cross-country teams. He was also an avid swimmer and was a member of the Pilot Aquatic Club in Knoxville, Tennessee. Lucas was killed when he was struck by a car. He was trying to cross New Midway Road in Knoxville. He was walking in the northbound lane with another person around 7 p.m. The 1987 Nissan that hit him was driven by Thomas McAmis, 26, a local man. He tried to avoid hitting Lucas and not citations were issued. Charges were pending. There were three passengers, including two children, in the car and they weren't injured.
