Lynn Lee Shasteen was born to William Barbee Shasteen (1873-1951) and Minnie Lee (Clay) Shasteen (1877-1953) and had sisters Virginia Elizabeth, (1905-1980), Mary D. (1910-1913) and Minnie Orena (1913-2007) and a borther Richmond Clay (1908-1991). He married Inza Shasteen (1905-1940) in 1934, and later married Gladys Anne (Kelley) Shasteen (1909-2000) in 1956. According to the 1920s Census he was 15 years old living with his father age 46, mother age 42, sister Virginia (age 14), brother Richmann (age 11), and sisters Wilma (age 7) and Minnie (age 6) on N. Shepard Street in Winchester Franklin County Tennessee. 10 years later in 1930 it shows Lynn (spelled Linn in the 1930s Census) was living as a lodger at the home of Addie G. Rich and worked as a salesman at a flour mill in Atlanta Georgia. In the 1940s Census it shows Lynn living in Blount Tennessee, having a college education working as a salesman and living with his father in law A J Parson, his wife Lillian Parson, and Lynn's wife Inza Shasteen (age 35) and Ray Shasteen (age 4). According to his World War 2 Draft Registration card he registered on October 16th 1940 in Atlanta Georgia and listed his employer's name as J. Allen Smith.
