Mabel Constance Stavely was born in 1895 to Frederick Merridew Eyers and Mary Hannah Eyers ( Lay, and had siblings Florence Lilian Thomas, Charles Austin Eyers, Ernest Corby Eyers, Helen Marshall Eyers, Winifred Mary Webb ( Eyers, Frederic Merridew Eyers Jnr., and Edith Marion Eyers. Mabel Stavely died at age 89 years old on November 26, 1985 in Dunolly, VIC Australia.

In 1895, in the year that Mabel Constance Stavely was born, on March 15th, in County Tipperary, Ireland, Michael Cleary killed his wife of 8 years, Bridget, and burned her body. His defense was that his "wife" was a changeling that was left in his real wife's place when she was abducted by fairies. He was nonetheless convicted and imprisoned for manslaughter. He spent 15 years in prison.
