Malcolm Ferguson Kay 1890 - 1957

Malcolm Ferguson Kay of Lism Australia was born on November 7, 1890 in Stawell, Northern Grampians Shire County, VIC to Harriett Williamson Kay and John Kay. Malcolm Kay had siblings Harriet (Kay) Freeland, Mary Elizabeth (Kay) Pallot, Robert Scott Kay, Alexander William Kay, Martha Maude Kay, George Edward Kay, Lily Ann Victoria Kay, Frances Grace Kay Bertrand, John Williamson Kay, and Miriam Margaret (Kay) Harris. He married Irene Loretta (Kearns) Kay in 1913. They had children Lillian Mary Kay and Clarice Mary Kay. He would also marry Margaret Mary Bradbury in 1924. Malcolm Kay died at age 67 years old in 1957 in Lism.

In 1890, in the year that Malcolm Ferguson Kay was born, on December 29th, the Wounded Knee Massacre occurred in South Dakota on the Lakota Pine Ridge Indian Reservation . The U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment said that they rode into the Lakota camp "trying to disarm" the inhabitants. One person, Black Coyote - who was deaf - held onto his rifle, saying that he paid a lot of money for it. Shots rang out and by the end at least 153 Lakota Sioux - some estimates say 300 - and 25 troops had died. The site of the massacre is a National Historic Landmark.

Later refinements and advancements in science would date the age of the earth at over 4.5 billion years.
