Add Memories, Stories & Photos about Manuel

My uncle was Moms 2nd brother. Manuel was an army Veteran. He fought in the Korean War. Later married a beautiful woman Aiding, a school teacher. Loving parents, they had two boys, Manuel Jr. & Jose Raul. Later Manuel Jr. had 2 boys & one girl. One boy sounds just like my uncle on the phone. Manuel Sr. strictly taught in colleges in PR. chemistry. As a child watching him l learned how to fix things. He taught me how to sing appreciate music. I never saw him angry. Even when l sat on the fire escape watching homeowners play in the back houses on metal cans. As l swung my legs between the barres & loosing my shoe, he reassured my family getting my head stuck between the barres, was nothing.. He didn't get angry. He calmly helped the fire dept. Get my head out! Though my aunt was upset, he laughed! Even yrs. later we reminisced & still laughed. My uncle became a Chemical engineer. He taught in colleges & prepared his students to become professional engineers, instructors, mechanics, technitions to electrictions. Some feared he was strict until God called my uncle home Students with teary eyes flooded to pay respects with thankful hearts to thank God for such a wonderful man. A man who cared for all of his students, preparing them for their future and how the value of life is. To this day, whenever l sing, to even fix something, l always think of him. Some ask how l can do that? I say it was my padrino who taught me, as l was little. I doubt today as an adult l'd try going on the fire escape! 😉 Those fond memories is what keeps me alive today. Miss you Padrenito!
