Our beloved mother Marceil was more than just a wonderful mother & wife. She was a brilliant lady who was very involved in our community & civic activities just like her brother Paul Justin Rockey was, who, by the way, was a judge of Probate Court in the Lima-Allen County region for many years until he passed away from a rare form of cancer in November 1965. Mom's father, James K. Rockey, was a locally renowned Lawyer in the Lima OH community for many years. Our grandmother, Edna Wiley-Rockey majored in Fine Arts at Ohio Northern University at Ada OH. Her amazing paintings have still been kept within the Rockey-Waltemath families down through the generations of which our mother passed on to me & my sister.
When our father William E. Waltemath passed away in March 1971, mom went back to college at ONU - Ada OH to pursue her degree in Accounting in which she graduated with honors, after which she became a Senior Medicare Auditor at Blue Cross/Blue Shield in the Lima OH region for many years until she retired, after which she played a lot of golf in her pastime & did a lot of traveling with friends including visiting me when I lived out west. Mom was also on the board of The League of Woman Voters, she was also on the board of the Tri-County Mental Health Board for Allen, Auglaize & Hardin Counties. She was also on many commities of her church. Also Mom was quite involved with the Allen County Historical Society & the Allen County Museum while also being a volunteer for Northwest Center for Human Resources Clubhouse. Mom was a "go getter". She always came to the defense of her family & children first as well as her friends. My sister & I miss her sadly & cannot comprehend that she has been gone 8 years. Somehow my sister & I have gone on but it has been a very rough road without our mother knowing how Alzheimers Disease destroyed her but ALSO realizing Mom IS in heaven & is NO LONGER suffering. My sister & I are the last two remaining members of the Waltemath family. Both of us are very honored to be the son & daughter of our beloved mother Marceil Rockey-Waltemath & our dad William E. Waltemath who died so long ago in 1971.
