Margaret loved playing organ, piano and accordion. The family often gathered around the piano to sing together. She passed her love of music on to her daughter, son, and grandchildren.

Lloyd Center and Mannings

One of the things I remember about visiting Margaret - my grandmother - is meeting her at the Mannings restaurant in Lloyd Center. That was always the gathering place, until Mannings shut down - I don't remember when that was. Then Eve's buffet at Fred Meyer became the spot to meet her. Lloyd Center was a fun place to meet, because of the ice skating there. She liked shopping at Newberry's - a good place to grab some snacks to take home. She always had sweets to give us to take home. Margaret didn't desire anything fancy or expensive. As dad said, "she liked the simple life".
