    The Benalla Standard, Victoria. 7th September 1920. - WEDDING A marriage of interest at Glenrowan and Greta was celebrated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, on Monday, 30th ult., when Miss Margaret Eileen McAuliffe, daughter of Mr. G. T. McAuliffe, of Glenrowan, was married to Mr. A. W. Griffiths, second son of Mr. Edward Griffiths, of Greta West.

In 1893, in the year that Margaret Eileen (McAuliffe) Griffiths was born, on February 1st, Thomas Edison's motion picture studio on his laboratory grounds in West Orange New Jersey was completed. The studio was called "Black Maria" and the first movie made and viewed in it was of 3 people pretending to be blacksmiths.

In 1905, Margaret was just 12 years old when the first movie theater opened in the United States in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was the first theater to show nothing but movies - silent films. Two men, John P. Harris and his brother-in-law Harry Davis, opened the Nickelodeon on Smithfield Street - charging 5 cents for admission. The first day, 450 people watched movies at the new theater - on the second day, more than 1500 people stood in line to get in.
