Margaret was born in Lackawanna, NY. Her mother was Patricia Marie Milholland (Schwindler). Her father was Frank Joseph Schwindler II. Both parents were from Blasdell, NY. Margaret's maternal grandfather was Richard Givens Mulholland, originally from Scranton, PA. Her Maternal grandmother was Sade Lizette Moss (Mulholland), from Blasdell, NY. Margaret's paternal grandfather was Frank Joseph Schwindler originally from Buffalo, NY. Her paternal grandmother was Grace Regan (Schwindler) originally from Buffalo, NY. Margaret's Schwindler ancestors originally came from Moosbach, Bavaria, Germany. The Regans were from Ireland. Richard Milholland's father, John Robert Mulholland, came from outside Glasgow, Scotland. Sade Moss' family was originally from Germany and England.

Margaret never served in the military, but her father was a pilot for the US Air Force during WW II, and her older brother was a career Navy officer.

Was the first female letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Next career was with Pizza Hut, rising to district manager in East Alabama. Final career was as an English assistant professor at Auburn University

Margaret was a talented pianist and singer. She sang in the church choir. Margaret was the middle child. Her oldest brother was Frank, Jr., and her younger brother was William John. She had three sons, William Joseph Moss, born in 1969; Jacob John Moos, born in 1971; and Bradley Thomas Baker, born in 1983. Bradley died in 2008.
