INNES.- On the 11th March, at the residence of her daughter, 170 Barkly-street, East Brunswick, ( Margaret Grey ), relict of the late John Innes, loving mother of Jessie ( Mrs. Connell ), grandmother of Margaret ( Mrs. Palce ), Isabel ( Mrs. Parry ), Thomas, James, William ( deceased ), and great- grandmother of Glady, Willie, Ronnie, Dorothy, Beryl, and baby Jessie. Aged 87 years. Rest after much suffering.

In 1839, in the year that Margaret (Sharp) Inness was born, in The Boston Morning Post, on March 23rd, the first recorded use of the word "OK" appeared. A columnist in the paper said this: "The "Chairman of the Committee on Charity Lecture Bells, is one of the deputation, and perhaps if he should return to Boston, via Providence, he of the Journal, and his train-band, would have his 'contribution box,' et ceteras, o.k.—all correct—and cause the corks to fly, like sparks, upward." While this is the first known time that OK appeared in print, where the word came from is still disputed.
