Margery Dorian was my piano teacher for many years. Her husband Paul was also an accomplished pianist. They lived in Los Gatos, California, and had wonderful piano recitals at their home, both in their backyard and the guesthouse behind their main house. Margery often invited me to be her guest at the Symphony, and started me on the path to being a piano teacher myself by giving me her overflow beginner students. I'll never forget Margery rolling up in her old car to give me and my brother private lessons at our house in Saratoga, CA. Margery Dorian also wrote a children's book called "The Three Boys of New Almaden (and other stories of early California." I'm so sad to hear of Margery's passing. May her memory be eternal.
