    Maria (Partyka) Gumul was born on August 13th, 1894, in Poland, to Stanislaw Partyka and Florentina Wypych. She migrated to the United States from Bremerhaven, Germany, arriving on the ship General R.M. Blatchford on January 31st, 1951. Maria Partyka wed Roman Gumul (1893 - 1961) in Poland before they immigrated with the final destination of Snover, Michigan, United States. Roman, also born in Poland, and Maria had five children. Their daughter Josefa, aged 16, arrived with them in 1951. While some sources say that Maria was born in 1895, most state that she was born in 1894 and her obituary puts her at the age of 98 when she died, which would agree with the birthdate of August 13th, 1894.
