    Marilyn Jean Cerven, 64, of Coralville, Iowa, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville, IA. She was born December 6, 1950 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Pearl Junior and Lois Jean Wixom Creason. Marilyn attended school in Gorin, Missouri, for 12 years graduating from Gorin High School. Marilyn attended the Upward Bound program at Kirksville, Missouri. Later, she completed a correspondence course in computer programs. She attended Southeastern Community College at Keokuk, Iowa, for 2 years and the University of Iowa for 4 years. Marilyn worked in retail businesses, data entry and did some factory work. She worked for part time agencies in Iowa City and Coralville. Her final job was at Michaels in Coralville. She retired due to health reasons to enjoy her friends and family. Marilyn married Robert Cerven, Jr. on December 30, 1969; they divorced in 1976. Of this marriage were born two children, Kimberly and Travis. She enjoyed swimming with her children in summer and was very proud of their scholastic accomplishments. In recent years, she loved buying gifts for and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Cerven, of Bemidji, MN, her son Travis (Diane) Cerven of Park Rapids, MN, one step-daughter, Jenifer (Jordan) Anderson of Akley, MN, six grandchildren, Kianna, Isaiah, Mikah, Megan, Daniel and Kate, three step-grandchildren, Savana, Danika and Natalie, one brother, Gary (Teresa) Creason of Kirksville, MO, five nieces and nephews, Whitney, Jordan, Colton, Brendan and Lauren and two aunts, Helen Wixom and Lois Wixom both of Keokuk,. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 22nd at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Dave Barrett officiating. Burial was held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Gorin Cemetery in Gorin, MO with Pastor Travis Cerven officiating.
