Marilyn (Gallo) Saccu of Derby, New Haven County, CT was born on August 13, 1941 to Madelyn Gallo and Michael Stephen Gallo Sr.. She had a brother Michael Stephen Gallo Jr.. She married Peter F Saccu, and had a child Peter J Saccu. Marilyn Saccu died at age 66 years old on September 12, 2007, and was buried at Mount Saint Peters Cemetery in Derby.

In 1941, in the year that Marilyn Saccu was born, in his State of the Union address on January 6th, President Roosevelt detailed the "four freedoms" that everyone in the world should have: Freedom of speech, Freedom of worship, Freedom from want, and Freedom from fear. In the same speech, he outlined the benefits of democracy which he said were economic opportunity, employment, social security, and the promise of "adequate health care".
